Wilbur Edward (Joe) Boggs

Wilbur Edward (Joe) Boggs, age 77, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015 at home. He was born July 9, 1938 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Homer and Irene (Oney) Boggs.

He was the former operator of Boggs Rich Oil and Marathon.

He is survived by sons, Joey (Guyanna) Boggs and Douglas (Marcia) Boggs, both of Oak Hill, and Mark (Kendra) Boggs, of Jackson; a brother, Ronald “Jeep” (Ellen) Boggs; sisters, Elizabeth Stapleton, Mary Evelyn (Charles) Hilsman and Bonnie (Neil) Whipkey. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Joey M. Boggs, Tiffany Boggs, Matthew (Paulina) Boggs, Marcus (Tiffany) Boggs, Tyler Boggs, Ryan Boggs and Waylon Boggs; six great-grandchildren, Sydnie Kilgour, Matthew C. Boggs, Makenzie Boggs, Madison Boggs, Paxton Boggs, Zoey Boggs; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wilbur was preceded in death by his wife, Katherine Boggs, on August 6, 2011; brothers, Homer “Buster” Boggs Jr., Melvin Boggs, Marvin Boggs, and infant brother, Clinton Boggs.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, December 8, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
