Sara Kay Nettles

Sara Kay Nettles, 75, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 3, 2015, at Edgewood Manor of Wellston. She was born in Wellston on February 15, 1940, to the late George and Elizabeth Dunfee Malone.

She was a graduate of Wellston High School. She married her late husband, Richard Nettles (died Feb. 10, 1998), on January 6, 1963. She was employed by the Sundry & News Stores as the store manager in Wellston, from where she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed woodworking projects, arts & crafts, floral arranging, and being an avid OSU football fan.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, George Malone; a sister, Ruth Dawson; and a close sister-in-law, Maggie Malone.

She is survived by a brother, Walter Malone, of Wellston; a sister, Wanda (George) Ervin, of Delphos, Ohio; six nieces and nephews: Patricia (Jack) Smith of Texas; Beth Hardesty of Lima, Ohio; Jerry Ervin of Massachusetts; Steve (Missy) Malone of Ontario, Ohio; Pam Crisp of Waverly, Ohio; and Jayne (Neil) Bair of Columbus Grove, Ohio; and several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.

Friends may call at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. Services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Jenkins Chapel, with Pastor Jerry Lung officiating; and burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
