Wilson H. Detty

Wilson H. Detty, Sr., age 89 of Jackson, passed away at his residence on Saturday, October 31, 2015. He was born in Ray, Ohio on August 30, 1926, to the late Charles W. and Edna (Byron) Detty.

Surviving are his wife, Janice (Copley) Detty; son, Wilson Detty, Jr.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, Nancy Detty. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death was a son, Charles Detty; two brothers: Arthur and Joe Detty and three sisters: Helen Kinnison, Virginia Mosslander and Mary Detty.

Wilson was a life-long worker, holding many positions. He worked for Globe Furnace, Throop-Martin in Columbus, Ohio, and he retired from Merillat. He was also the owner of Wilson’s Carry-Out in Wellston.

Funeral service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 4, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 3, from 4 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
