Emily Pauline Short

Emily Pauline Short, age 30, was born October 29, 1984. She was a 2003 graduate from Jackson High School and Buckeye Hills Career Center. Emily passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning on September 5, 2015.

She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Martha Short, her grandparents, Lloyd and Pauline Short, and her grandparents, Aaron and Marion Conn.

Emily leaves behind the two loves of her life, her sons, Alexander Trent (age 8) and Braxton Short-Trent (age 3) of Jackson, Ohio. She leaves behind her loving father, Lionel Short of Jackson, her sister, Wanda Conn Short Evans of Jackson, her brother, Zachery Ward of Portland, Ohio, and her nieces, Desiree Nutt of Columbus, OH, Sophia Ward of Portland, OH and Victoria Evans. She leaves behind her uncles, David Short and John Conn of Jackson, and her aunt, Donna (Bruce) Smith of Wellston.

Emily also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Jason Evans of Jackson, and sister-in-law, Lindsey Ward of Portland, OH. Emily leaves behind her loving cousins, Misty Keffer-Stump, Amber Keffer, and Amanda Conn. Emily leaves behind the father of her children, Kyle Trent of Jackson, OH. She also leaves behind a dear family friend (special sister), Trisha Vititoe, of Wellston, Ohio. Emily leaves behind many friends that she considered to be family.

Emily loved the outdoors, working the family business with her father, spending time with her children and family, and being with friends. Emily was a true country girl to the core; she loved four-wheelers, motorcycles, fast cars, dirt bikes, and slinging mud. She will be deeply and sadly missed by all those who loved her.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the funeral home. Condolences can be sent to www.mayhew-brownfuneralhome.com
