Robert I. “Bob” Reed

Robert I. “Bob” Reed, age 84, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was born September 6, 1931 in Vinton County, to the late Albert Isaac Reed and Mildred Grace Raynor Reed. Bob was a 1949 graduate of Coalton High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was the former owner of McArthur Express, and was also a former diesel mechanic at Osborne Equipment in Jackson, where he was employed for several years. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Ted Craft of Wellston; sisters, Peg Miller of Wellston, Jan Frisby of Gallipolis and Linda Mapes of Jackson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins, including special cousin, Joy Himes of Grove City.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Betty L. Reed in 2012.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
