Mark A. Russell, age 57, of Wellston, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Maple Hills Nursing Facility in McArthur, Ohio. He was born May 13, 1957 in Oak Hill, Ohio.
He worked at the Jackson Plastic Plant for 25 years, enjoyed watching Nascar and working on his 1971 Dodge Demon, in which he took great pride. He was known for having a heart of gold, he was a gentle giant who never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his father, Clifford Stevens; sister, Liz (John) Frisby; sister-in-law, Dora Pratt; nephew, Austin Frisby; niece, Terri Holcomb; special friend, Kenny Wallace; and his K-9 companion Dixie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Spriggs Stevens and brother, Marlin Russell; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Ruth Spriggs; and paternal grandparents, Lewis and Elizabeth Stevens and Irene Russell.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Taylor officiating and burial to follow in the Bethel Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at the funeral home.
