Alice Faye Staten, age 73, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Southern Ohio Medical Center surrounded by her family. Born on May 4, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Dorothy Bobo of Jackson, Ohio. Alice married the love of her life on July 20, 1958 and immediately set out to raise her family, which would be the cornerstone of her life. A devout Christian and a woman of few, but always mighty words, Alice raised her six children to love God, to love each other, and to always be there for one another. Alice’s legacy will live on with her children and grandchildren as they continue to cherish each other and the time they have with those they love.

Surviving are her two brothers, Jerry (Sandy) Bobo of Jackson, Ohio, and Buck Bobo of Wellston, Ohio; her two sisters, Sharon (Merle) Morris and Carol Duhl of Jackson, Ohio; sister-in-law, Pennie Bobo of Wellston, Ohio; four daughters, Debbie (Robert) Kennard of Lucasville, Ohio, Barbara (Jason) Landrum of Jackson, Ohio, Pamela (Huck) Logan of Oak Hill, Ohio, Vicki (D.J.) Trotter of Ward, South Carolina; her two sons, Teddy (Lisa) Staten and Michael (Hobie) Staten, both of Oak Hill; nineteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson.

Alice was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Ebert Theodore Staten, Sr.; her sisters, Wanda Caldwell and Maxine Cartwright; her brothers, Don Bobo and David Bobo; her granddaughter, Jamie Russell; and her step-grandson, Jason Dunn.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude for the care provided for their beloved Alice by Holzer Medical Center and Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio with Pastor Elza Green officiating. Graveside services will follow at C.M. Cemetery in Oak Hill, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. — 2 p.m. on Sunday prior to the service.
