Loretta E. Knox, age 93, of Hamden, passed away Wednesday morning, December 17, 2014, at the Edgewood Manor of Wellston.
She was born April 29, 1921 in Dundas, Ohio to the late John Lanane and Auttie Boyer Lanane. Loretta was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Hamden United Methodist Church and had attended the Wellston Church of the Nazarene for the last several years.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Lisa Tichenor of McArthur; great-grandson, Adam Tichenor; son-in-law, with whom she made her home for the last several years, Kenneth Ward of Hamden, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband, Pearl Knox; her daughter, Joyce Ward, and several brothers.
Calling hour will be Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Cemetery.
