Joyce Walton

Joyce Walton, age 82, of Logan, Ohio passed away Thursday, December 11,2014 in Fairfield Medical Center-Lancaster, Ohio.

Born August 27, 1932 in Columbus, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Edward and Margaret Alice (Burke) Wolfe.

Joyce was an educator in every way possible. She had attended Ohio University where she earned her Master’s Degree in Education as well as her BS in Education. She taught at the Hocking County Developmentally Disabled, Logan Hocking School District, and was a board member for the Hocking County Board of Mental Retardation. In all, she devoted over 25 years of her life to teaching. She always enjoyed sending and receiving inspirational cards.

She is survived by two sons, Christopher Isaac (Karen) and Michael F. (Sharon) Walton, both of Logan; six grandchildren, Jared (Kourtney) Walton of Gibsonville, Forest Walton of Logan, Amanda (Michael) Boggs of Grove City, Amber (Brandon) Tiller of Jackson, Austin Walton and Ashton (Sarah) Walton, both of Logan; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Walton, Tyler Tiller, Max and Paisley Boggs and her good friend, Debra (Fred) Thompson of Rockbridge.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Forest Lamar Walton (2002), infant great-granddaughter, Lucy Dawn Teller, and her infant great-grandson, Wyatt Isaac Walton.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Shepherd of The Valley Brethren in Christ Church in Logan, Ohio with Pastor Douglas A. Stull officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery-Wellston, Ohio.

Friends may call Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
