Melissa “Missy” (Grimes) Farley

Melissa “Missy” (Grimes) Farley, age 47, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 at Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after a brief illness. She was born March 9, 1967 at the Oak Hill Hospital in Oak Hill, Ohio. She was a1985 graduate of Jackson High School. Missy was employed by Jackson City Schools as a teacher’s aide; a job that she dearly loved. Prior to working in Jackson city schools, she ran a home day care.

Missy is survived by her mother, Bonnie Grimes (Tom Kranyik); her husband of 21years, Michael Farley; her only child, Corey Beth Farley; a brother, Marty (Debbie) Grimes of Lancaster, Ohio; mother and father-in-law, Judy and Wade Hill; five nieces, Cassie Grimes, Annie Cantor, Anndi Farley, Brandy Rhodehamel, and Sheena Pohlar; three nephews, Drew Grimes, Austin Cantor, and Alex Fairchild; her aunt, Mary Helen Fisher; her uncle, Robert “Dip” (Sharon) Grimes; her fur babies, Tommy, Joey, Brutus, and Rudy; as well as numerous cousins and friends.

Missy was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence and Dorothy Grimes; her sister-in-law, Cindy (Farley) Cantor; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Friends may call on Wednesday, June 25, from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio where the funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 26, at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jack Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
