George Robert Kidd, age 77, of Oak Hill, Ohio passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. He was born March 18, 1937, in Canal Winchester, to the late Charles R. and Sara Anna (Preston) Kidd.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Preston and Teddy Kidd; as well as a sister-in-law Meredith Kidd.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Keiko “Debbie” Kidd; children, Robin (Tony) Profitt, Tracy (Rick) Profitt, Robert “Bob” (Kim) Kidd, and Tad (Alisa) Kidd; 15 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Walter (Peggy) Kidd, and Paul (Diane) Kidd; sister-in-law, Lee Preston, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
George was a 20 veteran of the United States Air Force and a lifetime member of the VFW of Beaver, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Pastor Larry Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in C.M. Cemetery with graveside military services conducted by the Jackson DAV post #45. Friends may call Tuesday, May 13, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
