Marvin LeeRoy Folden

Marvin LeeRoy Folden, age 77, of Jackson, Ohio, went to be with the Lord at 12:51 a.m. on May 3, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born March 11, 1937 in Mudsoc, Ohio to the late Osa Mildred and Harry Timothy Folden.

Marvin worked at Southern Silica Sand for 25 years. He attended Wills Chapel Church. He was also a supporter of the AMVETS of Jackson. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards and cornhole with his family. He also loved cutting firewood and working in his garden. His favorite meal was beans, cornbread, fried potatoes and garden onions. He also enjoyed spending time with his dog Trevor and cat Goldie. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

On June 2, 1964, he married Connie (Sexton) Folden. From that union four loving children were born: Marla Lee Folden (Woody) Smith, Marvin Carl (Debbie) Folden, Carla Marlene Wolford (Ron Nutter), and Mildred Michelle “Missy” (Jason) Smith. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Daniel (Amy) Hubbard, Danielle (Brent) Causey, Christy Smith, Jafar Smith, Michael Kenny, Shane (Tausha) Folden, Jennifer (Scott) Owens, Tracy (John) Bond, Brock Woldford, Cain Wolford, Zane Wolford, Conner-Trace Wolford, Abram “Max” Wolford, Ama-Grace Wolford, Tyler Nutter, Teia Nutter (Dewey Hart), and Hannah-Jaylene Makenzie Smith; great-granchildren, Hunter, Jordan and Harley Causey, Addie Hubbard, Colt Folden, Shane Allen Jr. and Taylor (Pony) Folden, Joey Owens, Michael Hunt, Christian and Leigh-Allison Owens, and Emma Bond, Hunter and Keith Hart, and Riley Moonie Hart. Additional survivors include his brothers and sisters, Thelma (Duane) Boswell, Ross (Mary Lou) Folden, Ray (Sharon) Folden, Carol Landrum, Judy Whalen, and Joy (Jim) Hale; special cousins, Ronnie (Barbara) Folden and the Sexton families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were a brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Barbara Folden; sister, Peggy Folden; brother-in-law, Bill Landrum; infant twins, and grandson, Gary Lee Brown Jr.

A funeral service will be held at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Butch Cooper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
