Phyllis Beatty Turner

Phyllis Beatty Turner departed this life on January 1, 2014, 26 days shy of her 73rd birthday, after a short illness. She was surrounded by her family as she left on angel wings to her heavenly home.

Phyllis was born to Lloyd and Anna Fair Beatty on January 27, 1941, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Turner of Tucson, Arizona; three children, Ruthanne Turner, Lori (Ray) Hitt, and Ric (Lisa) Turner, all of Tucson; six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

She is also survived by three brothers, Paul (Betty) Beatty of Jackson, Ohio, Dr. Earl (Nancy) Beatty of Franklin Springs, Georgia, Ralph (Marilyn) Beatty of Jackson; and one sister, Doris (Terry) Yinger of West Chester, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Earlene.

Phyllis taught in the Middletown and Beaver, Ohio schools, at the Apache Reservation in San Carlos, Arizona, El Paso, Texas, and finally in Tucson, Arizona where she retired in 2002.

A memorial service was held at the Oro Valley Nazarene Church on Sunday, January 26.
