Martha “Marty” Perkins, age 87, of Hilliard, formerly of Jackson, passed away Tuesday February 4, 2014 at her home. She was born October 31, 1926 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Jim and Nellie Perkins.
She is survived by children, Donald (Marilynn) Perkins of Hilliard, Ohio, Robert Perkins of Hilliard, Ohio, Barbara (Arthur) Perry of Circleville, Ohio, Kenneth Perkins of Hilliard, Ohio, Joyce (Robinson) of Hilliard, Ohio, and Steven (Brenda) Perkins of Hilliard, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; more than 60 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Perkins; four children, Linda Cathell, Samuel Perkins, Karen Heath, and Russell Perkins; two sisters, Becky and Wanda.
She was a dedicated mother that raised ten children and was dedicated to her grandchildren. Her hobbies included playing bingo and cards.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum of Jackson, Ohio. Burial will follow at Beaver Union Cemetery with Pastor Randy Patterson officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 4-8 p.m.
