Betty Lou Swingle

Betty Lou Swingle, age 83, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Edgewood Manor of Wellston. Betty was born May 18, 1930, to the late George and Melissa (Sinclair). She was a very loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother as well as a true friend to many.

She is survived by her daughter, Deneda (Steve) Carl of Wellston and sons, Jim (Marlene) Swingle of Oak Hill and Robert (Terri) Swingle of Jackson; grandchildren, Kerry (Chad) Jenkins of Jackson, Evan (Alana) Carl of Wellston, Derrick (Kayla) Carl of Wellston, Patrick Carl of Wellston, Tonja Bixler of Oak Hill, Jamie Swingle of Jackson; as well as great-grandchildren, Geoffrey and Stephen Jenkins, Maddox and Gabyrella Carl, Marlena and Jamiee Bixler, Rileigh, Tyler and Layne Swingle; her sisters, Georgeanne Hawker, Imogene Miller and Eileen Booth of Jackson; and brother, Larry (Clara) McGinnis of Jackson; along with several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Swingle; daughter, Patricia Ann Swingle; her brother, Darrell McGinnis and a grandson, Jared Foster.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson. Burial will follow at the Fairmont Cemetery in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made to Grace United Methodist of Jackson.
