Hazel E. Dixon

Hazel E. Dixon, 82, went home on Friday afternoon, January 3, 2014, at her residence on Glade Run Road, Wellston, Ohio. She is safe in the arms of Jesus.

She was born in Washington Township, Jackson County, Ohio, on November 17, 1931, daughter of the late Chester Arthur Patton and Lillian Meachum Patton.

Hazel enjoyed being a homemaker, reading, and playing the piano. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Chillicothe, where she also played the piano.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Thurman Dixon, in 1988; her son-in-law Elmer Paul, in 2013; one brother; three half brothers; and one half sister.

Surviving are three sons, Charles A. Dixon at home, Mike (Peggy) Dixon of Wellston, and Bruce Dixon at home; two daughters, Emelie Paul of Springfield, and Cindy Music (Mike Francis) of Johnstown; five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren , and four great-great grandchildren; and close cousin George R. Gilliland, a resident of Jenkins Care Community in Wellston.

Hazel requested her wishes for cremation to follow her passing.

Arrangements are by the Jenkins Funeral Chapel of Wellston.
