Una “Maxine” Sears

Una “Maxine” Sears, age 73, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at the Holzer Medical Center ER in Jackson, Ohio. She was born February 24, 1940 in Coalton, Ohio to the late John Henry Long and Nancy Florene Adams Long.

Maxine was a graduate of the Buckeye Hills School of Nursing. She was a proud licensed practical nurse who worked at the Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon for 17 years. Maxine was also a former employee of Big Wheel and Hecks and she was a member o the Coalton First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her four children, Nancy Stansberry Hollingshead (Richard) of Wellston, Diane Stansberry Hollingshead (Paul) of Canal Fulton, Oh., Billy Jack Stansberry, Jr. of Hamden and Jeanie Maynard of Corpus Christi, Texas; eight grandchildren, Jeremy Hollingshead, Heather Hollingshead, Stacey Hollingshead, Adam Hollingshead, Tiffany “Nikki” Hollingshead Allen, Jarod Hollingshead (Caroline), Holly Miller and Gary Miller; one great-granddaughter, Jaida Maxine-Marie Sincell; two sisters, Elizabeth “Libby” Jenkins of Wellston and Helen Lambert of Republic, Missouri; very close friend, Raymond Wolfenberger of Wellston, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her husbands, Billy Jack Stansberry, Sr. and Jerry Sears; brother, Charles Long; sisters, Eleanor Butts and Marilyn Barnett, and her grandson-in-law, David Allen.

Calling hours will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 5 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Andy Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
