Grace M. Dozer Nugent, 82, of Cocoa, Florida, passed into her heavenly home at 7:01 a.m. Tuesday, November 19, 2013 in Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge, FL unexpectedly.
She was born August 28, 1931, in Vinton County, to the late Harley E. and Hazel O. Waldron Dozer. On December 2, 1995, she married Jack Nugent who died February 11, 2011.
Surviving are step-children, Dan (Carla) Nugent, Nancy (Tom) Connell, and Gay; sisters, Madge Mellman, Edna Utzinger, Thelma Ponko; brothers, Charles (Leola) Dozer, Edward “Ed” (Betty) Dozer, Clem (Dorothy) Dozer; sister-in-law, Bonnie Dozer; friend, Jim Holsinger; aunt, Nancy Waldron; and several nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Ruth Davis and brother, Clarence Dozer.
Grace retired from A&P Supermarket where she was head cashier and had also worked at K-Mart and prior to her moving to Florida, she had worked at the former Hogan’s Grocery in Wellston.
A funeral service will be held 8 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2013 in the Ware Funeral Home, Chillicothe, with her nephew, Melvin Lee officiating. Friends may call at Ware’s from 5 to 8 p.m. prior to the service on Friday evening. Burial will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 in Fairview Cemetery in Vinton County.
