Glenora Nordie Lower

LOWER, Glenora “Nordie” age 90, of Springfield, passed away Saturday November 16, 2013 at Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born February 23, 1923 in Jackson, Ohio, the daughter of Glendon and Rosetta (Downey) White. Nordie was a member of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. 8673, Fraternal Order of Eagles 397, Women of Moose 429, and Amvets 0377. She was formerly the owner of the Adam and Eve Hair Styling Center in Springfield. She always maintained her styling license, which gave her the distinction of being the oldest hairstylist in Ohio. Survivors include two sons, Frederick Lower and David Lower, both of Springfield; four grandchildren, Steven Lower, Julie Lower, Tabitha Lower, and Valarie Lower; six great grandchildren; one sister, Marilyn Bowman of Miamisburg; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 40 years, Raymond E. Lower in 1993; sister, Jean (White) Ford; and her parents. A wake will be held for close family and friends at Nordie’s residence on Saturday 11/23/13 at 7:00pm. Interment in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dayton, Ohio’s Area Agency on Aging. Arrangements are being handled by the JONES-KENNEY-ZECHMAN FUNERAL HOME.
