Jeffrey A. Hooten

Jeffrey A. Hooten, age 56, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born in Springfield, Ohio, on May 11, 1957 to the late John and Betty (Coggins) Hooten. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law Herb Crabtree.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Christy (Crabtree) Hooten; daughters, Sarah (Zak) Waugh of Wellston and Brooke (Ryan) Perry of Jackson; two granddaughters whom he loved and adored, Alexis Perry and Hattie Waugh; brothers, John (Margaret) Hooten, Mark Hooten and Kevin Hooten, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; sisters, Kathy (Barry) Gorodetzer of Stuart, Florida and Debbie Kiefer of Dayton, Ohio; mother-in-law Sidonna Crabtree; brother-in-law Brent (Connie) Crabtree; several nieces and nephews, a host of friends and his two beloved dogs, Buster and Rosco.

A memorial service will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Saturday, July 13, at 4 p.m. Friends and family will be received from Noon to the time of the service at 4 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
