Howard Oscar Snyder

Howard Oscar Snyder, age 59, passed away in Dayton, Ohio on April 6, 2013. He was born April 29, 1953 in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Margaret (Crabtree) and Delmar “Dutch” Snyder.

He grew up at Jackson Lake and attended Jefferson Local School and graduated from Oak Hill High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, swimming and spending time with his grandchildren. He was always joking around. He worked as a security guard for a few years in Columbus, Ohio and also worked at the Pallet in Columbus.

He had three sons, Jay and Rhenda of Dayton, Ohio, where he made his home for the past year, Jarod and Tabitha of Jackson, Ohio and Jeremy of Chillicothe; 10 grandchildren; long-time special friend, Emma Farney of Jackson, Ohio; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He is survived by brother, Buster of Oak Hill; sisters, Connie and Jim Bob Warren of Jackson, Kathy and John Mynes of Groveport, Ohio, Geraldine Hall of Columbus, Mary and Chris Marco of Grove City, Ohio, and Juanita “Sis” Miller of Oak Hill.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Judy; and two brothers, Wayne and Herbie.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Riggs, from Cedarville, OH, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family, on a later date, at Horeb Cemetery.
