Hazel Reed, age 88, of Ray, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at Heartland of Jackson. She was born in Greenup, Kentucky, March 14, 1924. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Nelson and Gracie (Skeens) Nelson; husband, James Edwin Reed; son, James Edward Reed and daughter-in-law, Christine Reed; grandson, Ryan Anderson; four brothers, two sisters, and a special aunt, Martha.
She is survived by children: Nancy Anderson of Ray, Ohio; Clyde (Sharon) Reed of Waverly, Ohio; Kathy (Gary) Hammond of Oak Hill, Ohio; Howard Reed of New Orleans; and Brenda (Matt) Waulk of Gallipolis, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Saturday, January 5 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held Sunday, January 6, at 2 p.m., officiated by Pastor Jorge Anido. Burial will follow in the Hickman Cemetery.
