Robert R. “Bob” Gussler, age 75, of Byer, passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at his home. He was born August 13, 1937 in Boyd County, Kentucky, the son of the late Cecil and Bertha Maddox Gussler.
Bob was a veteran of the United States Army Reserves. He was a former pipe fitter and construction worker and enjoyed fishing, hunting and the outdoors. Bob attended the Rt. 327 Holiness Church in Ray.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Fern Rowland Gussler; children, Robert Gussler, Jr. of Ray, Michael Gussler of Wilmington and Patricia Hamilton of McArthur; sister, Gayla Wright of Coalton, as well as eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Bob was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cynthia Ann Gussler and brothers, J.C. Gussler and Jack Gussler.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor James Harper officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.
