Catherine (Ramsey) Carlisle

Catherine (Ramsey) Carlisle, age 93, of Jackson, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Holzer Hospital in Jackson, Ohio, with her loving family at her bedside. She was born July 30, 1919 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Charles and Lucy (Poling) Ramsey. She was a long-time member of Christ United Methodist Church but also attended and supported numerous ministries and churches within the Jackson area to include her recent affiliation and attendance at Trinity Church of Christ in Christian Union.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and also her husband of 77 years, Thomas L. Carlisle; two brothers and two sisters, Glenn, Bill, Mary Elizabeth and Ruth.

She is survived by daughters, Jill Hale and Joan Greathouse, and sons, Thomas A. and Gwyn L., all of Jackson; grandchildren, Jan Carlisle of Huntington, W. Va., Beth (Kevin) Curtis of Locust, N.C., Eric (Priscilla) Carlisle of Clarksville, Anthony Carlisle of Amelia, Michael (Sandy) Carlisle of Jackson, John (Kris) Greathouse of Sunbury, Katherine (Eric) Risinger of Columbus, Jennifer (Cliff) Dowler of Jackson, and J. Brandon (Brandie) Hale of Oak Hill; 10 great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

At the request of the deceased, a private family interment was held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Fairmount Cemetery with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given in her name to Rio Grande University, for educational funds, P.O. Box 500 Rio Grande, Ohio 45674 or to the Jackson Area Ministries Food Pantry, 276 E. Main Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640. Arrangements were under the direction of the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson.
