Arden Guy Ellison (Jim)

Arden Guy Ellison (Jim) age 82, of Gallipolis Ohio, went home with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday September 5, 2012 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, following a short illness. He was born August 10, 1930 in Gilmer, West Virginia to the late Russell and Tressie Bernice (Edwards) Ellison.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

He is survived by his wife Pam (Heilman) Ellison, of Orville Ohio; children, William Crossen, of Gallipolis, James Arden (Misty) Ellsion, of Patriot, Carol Jones, of Cowen West Virginia, and Billy and Gary Ellison, of Ohio. He is also survived by his sister, Vera Watts, of Medina, Ohio; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Jim was a wonderful, kind-hearted man, who never met a stranger and would help anyone he could, no matter how they may have treated him. He had many careers spanning his 82 years on this earth. He was a State Highway Patrol officer in Arizona, bus driver, block layer, and most importantly, a truck driver for 27 years. He loved his life and loved his family and will be greatly missed by all.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, at the Gallia Baptist Church with James Ellison officiating. Burial will follow in Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Friends may call Monday, September 17, from 4-9 p.m. at the Gallia Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ellison family.
