Warren G. Young

Warren G. “Fred” Young, Jr., age 60, of Wellston, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, W.Va. He was born October 22, 1951 in Coalton, Ohio, the son of the late Warren G. Young, Sr. and Dora M. Deck Young. Warren was a 1970 graduate of Wellston High School and was a veteran of the United States Army, having served for 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed all sports.

Warren is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sharon L. Mather Young; son, Troy J. Young of Wellston; sisters, Bonnie Stone of Columbus and Vicki Dixon of Washington; step-sisters, Dottie Mowles of Texas and Lynn Young of Chillicothe; mother-in-law, Doris Mather of Wellston; sister-in-law, Diane Williams of Wellston; brother-in-law, Doug Mather of Virginia; special friend, Danny Walton of Wellston, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, hew as preceded in death by his step-mother, Ruth Young; his sister, Regina Gregg and his father-in-law, Gene Mather.

Calling hours will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 371 of Wellston.
