Thelma R. Jordan, age 92, of Wellston, passed away Monday, August 20, 2012, at Edgewood Manor of Wellston. She was born April 22, 1920 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Miles and Julia Minix Sturgell. Thelma was a loving homemaker and attended the Church on the Move in Wellston.
She is survived by her children, Gloria Perkins of Wellston, Greg Jordan (Linda) of West Portsmouth, Sandy McCarty of Wellston and Jeff Jordan (Diane) of Jackson; son-in-law, Harry L. Steel, Jr. of Wellston; sisters, Betty Moore of Hamden, Dreama Marquis of McDermott and Lucille Kitts of McDermott, as well as 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Jordan in 2001; daughter, Karen Steel; sons-in-law, Paul Perkins and David McCarty and several brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Bishop James Marquis officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.
