Kenneth Dale Christner

Kenneth Dale Christner, 75, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 22, 2012. Son of the late Joseph and Verbal Christner, he was born in Plain City, Ohio on May 18, 1937.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Houser Christner; daughter, Kathryn Marker and her husband Todd; and grandchildren, Kyle and Kara Marker, all of Wake Forest; granddaughter, Sierra Christner of Columbus; niece, Karen Christner, also of Columbus; and nephew, Greg Miller of Orlando, Florida. He was predeceased by his infant son, Kenneth, son Kevin, brother Oron Lee Christner, sisters JoAnn Kindschi and Mary Elizabeth Christner, niece Pam Christner, and nephews Joe Miller and Bryan Miller.

Dale graduated from Wellston High School in 1955, attended Heidelberg College in Tiffin, and graduated from Ohio State University and OSU Law School. He served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC from 1956-1958. He and Janice were married on August 17, 1958 in Canton. He practiced law in Ironton, Ohio for more than 20 years and after moving to Valdese, NC, taught paralegal classes at several community colleges. After a move to Roswell, GA and then to Wake Forest, NC, he was employed part-time at Enterprise Rental Cars where he enjoyed working with other retirees.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at Hope Lutheran Church in Wake Forest on Tuesday, July 31 at 11 a.m. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium following the service. Friends will be received afterwards in the church fellowship hall.
