Charles A. Stewart

Charles A. Stewart, 78, of Wellston, passed from this life Monday, July 23, 2012, at The Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington. The son of the late George and Mary Stapleton Stewart, he was born February 17, 1934, at Coalton. Charles was a graduate of Coalton High School, a career member of the Air Force from 1952 to 1974, and a long time employee of the Sands Hill Coal Company. He enjoyed attending The First Baptist Church of Coalton.

Charles is survived by his wife, Pamela, whom he married August 23, 1968, at Springfield, Ohio. He is also survived by his children, James (Janet) of New Mexico, Russell (Deana) serving in Afghanistan, Kathleen (Jack) Nowling of Florida, Pattie (Chad) Gilliland of Wellston and Pam Negrau (Greg) Phillips of St. Marys, Ohio; his grandchildren, Zane, Zach, Zaunda, Stephanie and Victoria; one great-grandchild, Angelina; and a brother James S. of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his siblings, George, Gertrude and Millie.

A private service will be scheduled at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Huntley & Cremeens Funeral Home.
