Franklin W. “Jake” Snyder

Franklin W. “Jake” Snyder, age 76, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012, at VA Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio, after an extended illness. He was born in Jackson, Ohio, on January 7, 1936, and later moved to Springfield, Ohio, where he met and married Minnie Ferguson and then returned to his home in Jackson. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at various businesses, including International, Hudson, Boise, Toro, and Banquet Foods.He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 48 years, Minnie Ferguson Snyder; his parents, Frank and Mary Friley Snyder; brothers, Robert “Bob” and Oscar “Ruke”; sister, Gladys Hayth Snyder and her son, Ray “Dink” Hayth, Jr.He is survived by his loving family, son, William “Bill” Snyder and daughter, Leona Kennedy, and grandchildren, Jessica Milhoan and Isaac Kennedy. He was very well known and liked and had many friends at the Jackson Senior Center, as well as the Liberty Grange and the neighborhood Diamond where he grew up. He will be missed very much.Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Saturday, February 18 from 6 to 8 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 19 at 4 p.m. with Terry Barnett officiating. Burial will be at convenience of family.
