Thomas W. McManaway, age 78, of Jackson, Ohio passed away peacefully at his residence, surrounded by family, Friday, March 25, 2022. He was born in Jackson, Ohio on December 29, 1943, to the late William H. and Eileen Lucille “Hughes” McManaway.
Thomas loved traveling anywhere stateside and did his out of country traveling with the Navy, which he proudly served for over three years. He retired from Ohio Bell, Fishel Company and served as a volunteer fireman and a trustee for the Prairie Township in Franklin County for many years. He came back to Jackson County in 2010 and enjoyed getting reconnected with the area.
He was survived by the love of his life, Sarah L. Clark McManaway; children: Todd W. (Kellie) McManaway, Tammy L. McManaway and Scott (Christine) McManaway; grandchildren: Tyler G. (Katie), Dylan, Nate, Caleb, Josh, Hannah and Megan; as well as special friend, Tina Wolford. He is proceeded in death by his parents and granddaughter Lauren.
The family will receive friends Saturday March 26, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Sunday March 27, 2022, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ed Linville officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson. The family are asking that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Adena Cancer Center and NCR Hospice of Waverly in honor of Thomas McManaway.
