Donna Ruth Swain-Wyant, age 82, of Jackson, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, after a long battle with Dementia. She was born May 7, 1939, to the late Cecil and Laura Wheeler Swain.
Donna Ruth Swain Wyant was married to Orville Leland Wyant for 64 years. She was a 1957 graduate of Jackson City Schools. She worked as a Teacher’s Aide for Scioto City Schools for 34 years and also was a lifetime member of the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. Donna loved being with her family and enjoyed being surrounded by her children, grandchildren, the outdoors and her beloved pets. Donna loved her church family at Pleasant Hill Methodist church as well as the time she spent honoring the lord. Mrs. Wyant, as she was known by her students, was a beloved teacher’s aide and was adored by many. Donna particularly loved red birds, and this verse will stay with us as a special remembrance as we know she is near: “May you come to find comfort in and remember – cardinals appear when angels are near. So go now, sit outside and drink your tea. Keep a lookout for the little red bird – it is there, your loved ones will be.”
Donna is survived by spouse, Orville Wyant; daughter, Vivian (James) Wyant-Cochran; son, Michael (Mary Ann) Wyant; grandchildren: Brodie Cochran, Kara Cochran, Micaela Wyant and Madelyne Wyant; great-granddaughter, Riley Parker; and one great-grandchild on the way; as well as many brother- and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Fred Crabtree officiating with burial to follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
