Twila Ann Bowling Kanouse, age 61, of Ray, passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born September 16, 1960, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Harley D. Bowling and Marilyn I. Ross Bowling. Twila retired from KFC, where she was employed at both the Wellston and Jackson locations for 27 years. Twila was artistic, and in her spare time she enjoyed drawing and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her longtime companion of many years, Dale Tennant of Ray; daughters: Neka Kanouse (Jennifer Kersey) of Newark and Shannon Tennant (Dustin Cooper) of Wellston; grandchildren: Austin and Reagan Crabtree of Jackson; her first and only son, her dog Tiny; siblings: Robin Bowling (Jeff Exline) of Wellston, Sandy Mills of Kentucky, Mona Miller (Greg) of Wellston, Trina Scarberry (Charlie Shotts) of Wellston and David Bowling (Lisa) of Hamden; step-mother, Diane Bowling of Wellston; step-sisters: Teresa Adkins (Foster) of Florida and Sheri Bragg (Scott) of Wellston; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including special friends, Carlene “Budgie” Tennant, Cheryl Brooks and Pat Tennant. Besides her parents, Twila was preceded in death by daughter, Felisha Baisden; brother, Leonard Lemaster; grandparents: Ed and Roxie Bowling and Ella Dewey Ross; and several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, February 9, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 1 p.m. with Pastor Barry Benson officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
