Doris Joan (Sexton) Hacker, age 81, of Jackson, Ohio passed away at Holzer Hospital on February 7th, 2022, at 8:45 a.m. She was born in Jackson, Ohio on November 14th, 1940, to late William Christley and Ama Jane (Cain) Sexton.
Doris was a graduate of Jackson High School. During her lifetime, she was employed by Sinclair Truck Stop, The Plastic Plant, FOE Jackson and Jeff’s Bait and Tackle, all of Jackson. Doris was blessed with a large and loving family and a love for her dog and birds. She enjoyed various activities, with Bingo being her favorite, playing anytime she could, and also enjoyed mushroom and ginseng root hunting, fishing and turtle trapping.
She is survived by her son, Dean Sexton; daughter, Crystal Sexton; and son, Floyd (Charma) Hacker; son-in-law, William Burge; grandchildren: Michael Hayth, Andrew, Christopher, and Steven Burge, Billy (Brittany), Aaron and Austin Sexton, Mallory Bush, Deanna Rankin, Brandin (Megan) Hafer, Shanna (Raymond) Lett, Cassie and Sierra Hacker; also 27 great grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews. Also surviving are brothers and sisters: Marlene Simpson, Tom (Marlene) Sexton, Lela (Bill) Cooper and Garry (Kathy) Sexton. Doris is preceded in death by her daughter, Penny Lynn Hayth-Burge; sisters: Ilene Tackett, Arleda Keller, Roselee Scott, Connie Folden; brothers: William (Buddy), Floyd and Ronnie Sexton; and brother-in-law Larry Simpson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 11th, 2022, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Butch Cooper and Raymond Lett officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery.
