Pauletta Joye “Paulette” Phillips, age 78, of Wellston passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, December 16, 2021. She was born November 1, 1943, in McArthur, Ohio, the youngest child of the late Lawrence and Rachel (Monroe) Donahoe. Paulette was a 1961 graduate of Vinton County High School, where she was a proud four-year varsity cheerleader. She worked at various places in the public for the majority of her life, including Brenner’s Grocery and Fruth Pharmacy. One of the many things that Paulette will be remembered for was being an avid bowler for many years. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, all of whom she loved dearly. Paulette married Robert Lin “Bob” Phillips on June 26, 1966. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
Along with Bob, Paulette is survived by her four children: Joye Lin Adkins (Larry) of Oak Hill, Bobbi Rachelle Anderson (Curt) of Greenfield, Indiana, Brenton Robert Phillips of Bidwell and Amanda Gail Taborn (Jeff McCormick) of Wellston; grandchildren: Kayla Lin Montgomery, Andrew Michael (Miranda) Montgomery and Kammi Gail Anderson of Greenfield, Indiana, Lacey Rachelle Adkins of Columbus, Karissa Rae Adkins of Ashland, Kentucky, Macie Lynn, Jacob Brenton and Kinly Grace Phillips of Hamden, Briley Mattison-Jae Lusk, Alic Shayden Taborn and Branen Owen Taborn of Wellston, and Montana, Madison and Lindsey McCormick of Wellston; great-grandchildren: Sophia Lynne and Mila Grace Montgomery; and siblings: Irene Ward (Duane) of Wellston and Robert Donahoe of McArthur. Besides her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her siblings: Wendall Donahoe, Donna Morrison and infants, Dorothy Faye and Mary Alice Donahoe.
Calling hours will be Saturday, December 18 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will follow the calling hours at 4 p.m. with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
