Judy Ann (McCoy) Brunton, age 70, of Jackson, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 14, 2021. She was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on November 21, 1950, to Clyde McCoy and the late Doris “June” (Graham) McCoy.
Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Lee Brunton in 2019; brothers: Robert McCoy and David McCoy; and a brother-in-law, Michael Brunton. In addition to her father, Judy is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Dusty) Stewart; her son, Bryan (Charla) Brunton; three grandchildren: Ryan Stewart, Brylee Brunton and Chloe Brunton; a brother, Keith (Jennifer) McCoy; sister-in-law, Debbie McCoy; sister-in-law Lyn (Ron) Speakman; and nieces: Dena Stewart and Melissa McCoy.
Judy retired from the Jackson City Schools, where she was a teacher’s aide and cook. She was currently serving as a board member on the Jackson County Board of Elections. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, sewing, quilting, gardening and canning, taking care of others, admiring Mustangs and muscle cars, getting out and doing things and walking.
Funeral services will be held at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home on Saturday, November 20 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 19 from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Jackson Chapter 45 – Disabled American Veterans, 170 Pearl Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
