Roger Lee Henson, age 70, of Wellston, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. He was born October 14, 1951, in Piketon, Ohio, son of the late Neary and Tere (Richarks) Henson. Roger graduated from Piketon High School and the Vern Rife Career Technology Center. He was a former construction worker for over 40 years, and in his spare time, he enjoyed being outside, sitting on the porch and spending time with his grandchildren.
Roger is survived by his daughters: Holly Raines (Jerry), Jaymie Henson and Erin Henson; grandchildren: Jordan Smith, Brinnon McGinnis, Jacob Raines, Katelyn Sayers and Jaycie Sayers; great-grandson, Raylee McGinnis; siblings: Pam Noriega, Sharon Carver (Dale), Kathy Brown (Donnie), Wayne Henson (Candy), Jeff Henson and Debbie Maynard; along with several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Nola Jane Henson in 2013; and sister, Alberta Havens.
Calling hours will be Friday, October 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 23 at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Kathy Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
