Heaven gained a warrior of Christ on September 24, 2021. Paul Edward Sites went to his Heavenly home after 85 years of serving his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He lived a blessed life and was loved by so many. Paul Edward Sites was born on August 15, 1936, to the late Fred and Mary Elizabeth (Addis) Sites in Hecla, Ohio, Lawrence County.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife Irma Jean Sites of 10 years; brothers: Herman Sites, Robert Sites, and nephew James Leo Sites; and granddaughter Madison Paige Sites. Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Gilda Kay Sites; his children: Jeanne (Allen) Collins, Paul Sites II (Erika), Michael Sites (Candice), and Bronwyn Ervin (Jonathan); his sibling, James Michael (Lavetta) Sites; and many nieces and nephews. He was so very proud of his grandchildren and spent many special times attending sporting events, dance recitals and beach vacations. His grandchildren are Zander Ervin, Zoie Ervin, Zaydon Ervin, Zaliyah Ervin, Hunter Sites, Gavin Sites, Taylor Sites, Brentley Mullholand, Pearl Mullholand, Trevor Collins and soon to be born Maria Isabel Sites. He will be greatly missed by his doxies, Adolph and Fraulein, who were his constant lap companions.

Paul attended Helca Elementary of Kitts Hill and graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1955. In 1961, he graduated from Eastern Kentucky University with a BS degree in Education and a minor in Psychology. He taught Industrial Arts, Woodshop and Autocad throughout his teaching career. Paul worked hard to put himself through college and throughout his life. He was a man of many talents. He painted and roofed houses throughout his life. He built several houses, including his beloved “Round” house. Paul started his teaching career in Jackson City Schools in 1961. He taught for 40 years in the Jackson City District. He served as High Y & Tri High Y Advisor while teaching at Jackson. He enjoyed taking students to Youth in Government at the State House in Columbus Ohio. On Friday and Saturday nights he would run the High Y & Tri High Y booths at the Jackson football and basketball games. He also collected tickets for football and basketball games for many years. Paul taught Industrial Arts at Chillicothe Middle School for one year. Paul dedicated his final 13 years as an educator to the Wellston City Schools District, teaching AutoCad. There, he was honored for his teaching retirement of 54 years. He loved all his students and always laughed and talked for several minutes when he saw them in town. He continued to serve the Jackson City Schools as a School Board member and was a member of the board during the construction of the new Jackson City Schools. He reminded his grandchildren very often of this accomplishment. Paul was a Jackson County Blood Hero, donating 10 gallons of blood through the American Red Cross. He always encouraged his family and friends to give life to those in need. Paul loved his Tuesday prayer group at Liberty Baptist Church, where he was a member. His Saturday Prayer Breakfasts with his Gideon buddies were also very special to him. Most honorably, Paul was a member of the Gideons International for 51 years. He spent many years witnessing and traveling around Ohio and the world. He traveled to France, Portugal, Nigeria and Bolivia, sharing the love of God and distributing Bibles. He served many positions at the state level and was currently the Area 11 Director. Most of his favorite moments came from these experiences of witnessing Jesus.
