Larry W. Ross, age 67, of Jackson, passed away Tuesday, September 21, after a two-year long battle with cancer at his home near Jackson. Larry was born to Elba and Geraldine Ross in Oak Hill Ohio, on May 16, 1954, and was number eight of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings: Helen, Carol, Carl, and Ida. He is survived by his wife, Brenda; his sons: Jason and Joshua Ross; stepsons: Brandon and Joshua Weber; sisters: Thelma Harper and Nancy Ross; and brothers: Paul and Earl Ross. He is also survived by his grandchildren and a very large extended family, many nieces and nephews and many close friends that he loved dearly.
Larry loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed taking long rides to scenic places. He loved to build things and work with his hands. He was widely known in the area and found someone he knew everywhere he went. He was a friend to all and was extremely kind and generous. He had a razor-sharp memory and remembered details about everyone he ever met and every place he had ever been. He graduated from Jackson High school in 1972 and worked a variety of jobs in machining, construction and industrial maintenance, and retired from Flour B+W in Piketon, Ohio.
Arrangements are being handled under the direction of the Mayhew Brown Funeral Home. Per Larry’s wishes, a private service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later time.
