Ricky Wells, 54, of Jackson, died at 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis. He was born on Thursday, December 1, 1966 in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Taylor P. and Saundra Ann Smith Wells. On Saturday, April 5, 1986, he married Sherri Skaggs.
Ricky is survived by his wife, Sherri Wells, one son, Ricky (Amanda) Wells Jr., one daughter, Heather (Justin) MacMaster all of Jackson, his seven grandchildren: Justin, Timothy, Christian, Xander, Makynlee, Gavin and Adalyn. He is also survived by four sisters: Saundra Fay (Sam) Smith of Jackson, Beth Wells Zink of Urbana, Darlene (Tony) Wheaton of Greenfield, and Dawn Schneider of Chillicothe; two brothers, Randy (Penny) Wells of Frankfort and Ronny Wells; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
Ricky was a 1985 graduate of Adena High School. He was a State Trooper with 28 years of service with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and retired in May of 2019. He and Sherri enjoyed trail riding their horses. He loved being outdoors and using his many skills of carpentry, heavy equipment, and farming to name a few. He also loved old classic cars and trucks. He had a passion for Christ and sharing that with others.
Family and friends of Ricky’s are asked to attend a public graveside service on Monday, April 26, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. This service will be recorded and posted on Ricky’s online register book later that day.
