Jill D. (Jenkins) Evans, age 68, former Jackson resident, passed away at her home in Grove City, Ohio early Sunday morning April 26, 2020 after bravely battling declining health for over a decade. She was born on Jan. 6, 1952 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Arthur D. and Anna Mae (Davis) Jenkins.
Jill graduated in 1970 from Jackson High School where she was voted homecoming queen her senior year. She dedicated her entire life to helping others. She was a highly respected nurse in the Jackson County area for many years, having worked at Holzer ER in Gallipolis, Holzer Clinic in Jackson, Jenkins Memorial Clinic in Wellston as well as co-owner of the Medicine Shoppe in Jackson.
She is beloved by her entire surviving family: husband of 41 years, Curt R. Evans of Grove City, Ohio; sons, Eric (Julie) Evans of Orient, Ohio and Jeff Evans of Grove City, Ohio; three grandchildren, Addy, Rossi and Ryne Evans of Orient, Ohio; sister, Cindy (Jim) Hughes of Jackson, Ohio; sister-in-law, Linda (Mike) Hiltenbeitel of Cincinnati, Ohio; nephews, Jarrod (Lisa) Hughes of Jackson, Ohio and Brandon (Holli) Hughes of Alexandria, Indiana; great-nieces Hollie and Haleigh Hughes and great-nephew, Justin Hughes of Jackson, Ohio; as well as other cousins, family members and friends.
Private graveside services are being held under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Burial will be at Fairmount Cemetery.
