Glenna Marie (McCormick) (Williams) Foster

By | February 12, 2020

Her Lord saw she was tired and called her home, she obediently followed HIM on Tuesday, February 11th, 2020 where she was greeted at the golden gates by singing angels, family members that preceded her: grandparents, Joe (Jessie) McCormick and Gleason and James (Mary) Sheward Morris Stout; parents, Glendon (Mabel Morris) McCormick; loving sister, Betty (Willard) Mannering; husband, Carl Foster; son, Butch; niece, Judy; and other extended family members and friends.

Oldest of two daughters, she was born on November 7th, 1928 in Jackson, Ohio where she lived her entire life. She attended Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church. She was a cook at Grime’s restaurant, and she cleaned the Jackson Moose Lodge and various homes. She learned at the age of 5 when her mother passed away and she, her sister, and father moved in with their grandparents, Joe and Jessie and their children to work hard and do what was needed to help support her family and herself.

She is the last of a great icon, at the age of 90. She always put others first, especially her family, helping and taking care of them by being a loving wife to her husband of 32 years, Carl Foster; grandmother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. She was a great cook who loved to bake, especially her pies will be remembered. She loved Jeopardy, scary movies, and various types of music. In addition, she loved to read, paint, work crossword puzzles, go out to eat, play Euchre, and spend time with her family and friends.

She leaves behind those who she loved the most to grieve and remember her always: daughter, Carla (Jim) of Groveport, Ohio; daughter-in-law, May of the Philippines; grandchildren: Chris, Ann-Ann (Jorge) of Houston, Texas, Josh of Groveport, Ohio, Brian (Kenna) of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cynthia (Kimo) of Hawaii, and other grandchildren; great-grandson, Izaiah; nieces: Rose Elkins of Jackson, Ohio, Dorie (Rick) Patterson of Wilkesville, Ohio, and Betsy (Orie) Crabtree of Oak Hill, Ohio; several great-nieces, a great-great-nephew, and other extended family members and friends.

Viewing will be held on Monday, February 17th, 2020 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Per her request, interment will be at the convenience of the family at Fairmount Cemetery to be reunited with her loving husband, Carl. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to the Jackson County Humane Society, a cancer facility, or for Alzheimer’s. Online condolences may be sent to www.lewisgillum.com
