Brent A. Jenkins, age 55, of Jackson, passed away Monday, Feb. 24, 2020, at his home, surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 23, 1964 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Charles G. “Buck” Jenkins and Pearl L. Gregory Jenkins.
Brent was a 1982 graduate of Jackson High School. He was the maintenance supervisor at Maple Hills Nursing Facility in McArthur. Brent, a dedicated member of the Jackson County Fair Board, had a passion for the Jackson County Fair. During his involvement with the fair board he made many lasting friendships and enjoyed participating in all the fair activities, especially the camping outings. An outdoorsman, Brent also enjoyed fishing, hunting and joyriding in his golf cart. He also had fun playing poker, visiting the casino, and bragging about having the three best sons-in-law.
Brent was a strong, loving, caring, big-hearted individual, who was always willing to help others; but most of all, he was the perfect, devoted husband, father and grandfather, who treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Brent is survived by his wife, Missy Jones Jenkins; daughters and sons-in-law, Mandy and Kris Coughenour, Sara and Josh Moon, and Ashley and Brandon Coon, all of Wellston; grandchildren, Brenton, Emma, Maddie, Adelyn, and Sophie; siblings, Tom Jenkins (Sheree), Lorrie Perry (Bud), Brad Jenkins (Brenda), and David Jenkins, all of Jackson, and Cindy Case (Tim) of Leesburg, OH; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Barbara Jones of Wellston; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Waylon Kristopher Coughenour; and sisters, Terry Harris and Lisa Jenkins.
Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Evangelist Tim Case and Pastor Michael Jadrnicek officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson.
