Charlotte Mary Cecilia (Maiberger) Black, age 86, passed away Sunday, Sept. 22 at her daughter’s home in Louisville, KY. She was born Sept. 13, 1933 to the late Anthony and Lucille (Rupprecht) Maiberger.
She is survived by sons: Thomas (Pam) Black of Columbus, Ohio and John (Debbie) Black of Oak Hill, Ohio; daughters: Susan Black and Cathy (Jeff) Gooch of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren: Heather Black, John (Tiffany) Black, and Ryan (Jen) Black; great-grandchildren: Konnor, McKenzey, Chelsey, Payton, Drew, Kennedy, Bentlee, and Charlee; brother, Anthony Maiberger, sister-in-law, Margaret Irene Black; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and very special family friends, Steve Schwering and Joe Marcellino.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Dale; a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Black; and brother, Edward Maiberger.
Charlotte worked for the State of Ohio in Columbus until 1958, when she married the love of her life and moved to Oak Hill. She later became a CNA and worked nights at Heartland of Jackson for 20 years before retiring. She was also a member of Franklin Valley Methodist Church.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Franklin Valley Cemetery in Jackson with Pastor Tim Simpson officiating.
