Phyllis E. Leach

Phyllis E. Leach, 87, wife of William E. Leach, passed away Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017 at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, Ohio. She was born in Jackson County, Ohio on Jan. 20, 1930 to the late Clyde and Daisy Eubanks. In addition to her husband and parents, she was pre-deceased by two grandsons: Jack Dale Spencer and William Michael Oliver, as well as five siblings.

She is survived by three sons: John Morris (Carol), William Leach Jr. and James Leach (Rheeta); and four daughters: Georgia Mapes (Golan), Patty Dawson (Roy), Vicki Sturgill and Penny Crusan (Michael). Also surviving are seven grandsons: Golan Mapes Jr. (Dorothy), Robert Oliver, John Morris (Erika), Jerrod Morris, Richard Webb, Aaron Sturgill and Adam Leach; three granddaughters: Kimberly Hedrick (Chris), Tammy Daniels (Brian) and Danielle Crusan; along with seven great-granddaughters, five great-grandsons, seven great-great-granddaughters and four great-great-grandsons.

Per her wishes, Phyllis will be cremated. There will be no calling hours or services, though the family will be meeting at her final resting place to say their goodbyes on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017 at 1 p.m.

In a way to honor her memory, the family would like to share an excerpt from the poem “To Jennie” written by Mark Twain: “Your image, graven on my heart, forever shall remain.”

Arrangements are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home and Southern Ohio Cremation Services in Jackson.
