Betty Mae Cofer, age 89, passed away at the Hospice Care Center of Ashland on Monday, Nov. 27, 2017. She was born Sept. 11, 1928 in Blackfork, Ohio to the late Alva and Margaret (Johnson) Craddolph.
She is survived by her sons, Gregory Mark (Carol) Cofer of Illinois and Myron Dean (Marta) Cofer of Ironton, Ohio; grandchildren: Monette D. (Terry) Cofer Mack, Paul Cofer, Lauren Cofer; sister, Addi J. Craddolph of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Wallace Craddolph of Cleveland, Ohio; as well as a host of nephews, cousins, and close friends.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Paul M. Cofer; daughter, Marlene D. Cofer; great-grandson, DeShawn Cofer; siblings: Richard Craddolph, Samuel Craddolph, Frank Rollins, Howard Rollins, Hazel (Craddolph) Nolan, and Marie Wilson.
Betty was a lifetime member of Union Baptist Church of Blackfork, Ohio where she served in the choir and on the kitchen committee. Betty was also a missionary.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 from 12 to 1 p.m., at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, with funeral services following immediately after at 1 p.m. with Rev. Keith Fulton officiating. Burial will follow at Union Baptist Cemetery.
