Jeannine Ann Leach Bowden

Jeannine Ann Leach Bowden, 68, of Hamden, passed away on June 26, 2016 at Edgewood Manor Nursing Facility in Wellston with her mother, sisters, and son nearby.

She was born on February 11, 1948 in Portsmouth, Ohio, attended Wellston High School and graduated with the class of 1966. She married in 1966 and raised three sons. She was a homemaker, home health care aide, and foster mother for many children. Jeannine loved to crochet and enjoyed having her family around, especially her grandchildren. She always enjoyed preparing and hosting family dinners during the holidays. She attended Puritan Freewill Baptist Church in Hamden, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Dale Leach, and paternal and maternal grandparents.

She is survived by her three sons, Gary C. Bowden Jr. (Cassie) of North Ridgeville, Ohio, Brian Dale Bowden (Shelly) of Hamden, Ohio, and Matthew David Bowden of Columbus, Ohio. Also surviving are her mother Carrie Holtz Leach Powell and step-father Norman Powell of McArthur, Ohio. Jeannine is also survived by two sisters Jeannette Leach Canode of Charleston, South Carolina and Annetta Kay Leach Beabout of Hamden, Ohio. A brother survives, Dale Bruce Leach (Jeanne) of Dover, Ohio. One step-brother also survives, Kenneth Wayne Powell of Jackson, Ohio.

Surviving grandchildren are Kyle, Josh, Connor, and Ayla Bowden, Alec, Jennifer, and Brandon Bowden, and Justin Lawson. She is also survived by many beloved nephews and nieces.

Jeannine fostered several children during her lifetime including Caressa Sayers with children Raelyn and Kinsley, and Bobbi Jo Sayers with children Keaton and Kambrea.

A memorial service celebrating Jeannine’s life will be held at the Puritan Freewill Baptist Church, Rt. 160, Hamden, Ohio on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 3:00 p.m.
