Rev. Edward C. McClelland, age 79, of Marysville, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio. He was born November 4, 1936 in Ewington, Ohio to the late Timothy and Anna Elizabeth Brown McClelland.
Ed, an ordained minister with the Church of Christ in Christian Union denomination, was a minister in the surrounding area for several years. In years past, he was a self-employed auto mechanic and an auto technician for several car dealerships in Columbus. Ed was a member of Trinity Chapel in Jackson.
He is survived by his children, Vicky Dubena (Ronald) of Delaware, Timothy McClelland (Suzanne) of Richwood, Tim Hale (Missy) of McArthur, Terry McClelland (Sherry) of Mt. Victory and Cathy Shephard (James) of Mt. Victory; 12 grandchildren, Danielle Copley (Mike), Devin Dubena, Dylan Dubena, Shane McClelland, Seth McClelland, Jindra Hale, Faith Hale, Autumn Hale, Robert McClelland, Brandon McClelland (Paige), Ashley George (Duncan) and Zach Shephard; seven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Gladys McClelland of Vinton; brother-in-law, Gordon Cornell (Jo) of Columbus, along with nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ann Cornell McClelland in 2011; three infant children, and his brother, Timothy McClelland, Jr.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Urban Adams officiating.
