Opal M. Crabtree (Crace)

Opal M. Crabtree (Crace), age 90, of Oak Hill, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, surrounded by her family at Heartland of Jackson. She was born February 28, 1925, in Scioto County, Ohio, to the late Roland and Ethel (Rawlins) Crace.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Edgar Franklin Crabtree; siblings, Roland Crace Jr., Eva Allen, Dolly Cherrington and Don Crace; a great-grandson, Trison Douglas Crabtree; and foster child, Ettice Hatfield.

She is survived by her brother, Joe B. Crace; children, Douglas F. Crabtree, Dennis (Penny) Crabtree, Rebecca (Ted) Iaquinta III, Fred (Debbie) Crabtree, Rolanda Crabtree, Miriam (Mark) Brumfield, Aaron Lee (Denise) Crabtree; 22 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

Opal was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church of Oak Hill.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, July 11, at the Old Country Church Tabernacle in Oak Hill with Pastor Lynn Summers officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, July 10, at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again from noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.
