Marvin Boggs, age 82, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, May 30th, 2015. Marvin’s passing was sudden and unexpected. Jessie, his wife, passed away on March 18th, 2015, and Marvin had missed her greatly for the past 73 days.
Marvin was born January 7, 1933 to the late Homer Issac and Irene (Oney) Boggs. He was one of nine children, and spent his entire life in the Oak Hill area. On July 12, 1952 he married Jessie McCain and the two had enjoyed 62 years of marriage. He was employed by the Cedar Heights Clay Company for many years. He also enjoyed farming, and attending the local livestock sales where he had made many lifelong friends. Marvin faithfully attended the Faith United Methodist Church in Oak Hill.
Marvin is survived by his two children, Regina (Steve) Boggs and Darrell (Marilyn) Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio; grandchildren, Justin Boggs of Dallas, Texas, Elizabeth Boggs of Cincinnati, Ohio, Patrick (Leah) Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Kyle (Whitney) Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio; great-grandchildren, Connor, Clayton, and Beckett Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio; and four brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Stapleton of Oak Hill, Ohio, Wilbur Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio, Mary Evelyn Hilsmann of Ventura, California, Ronald “Jeep” Boggs of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Bonnie Whipkey of Stuart, Florida; as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie; three brothers, Homer “Buster” Boggs Jr., Melvin Boggs, and an infant brother, Clinton Boggs; and granddaughter, Kendra Boggs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill with Rev. Pat King officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, June 2, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
